Something that I learned through my battle with acne is to be patient and be consistent with my skincare. A skincare routine is KEY when traveling to help your skin navigate through the change in surroundings. Although there isn’t a solution that will make acne disappear overnight, having a consistent skincare routine CAN make a difference. My current skincare includes the Banish Starter Kit which is equipped with travel-friendly face masks, cleanser, serum, face mist, and moisturizers to aid acne and help fade acne scars. After using dozens of different skincare brands, I found that natural products like the Banish work best on my skin! Plus, the Starter Kit has all the skincare essentials to help combat acne and hyperpigmentation.
Here are my tips for maintaining clear skin and treat acne while traveling!
KEEP UNWANTED BACTERIA AT BAY
It’s important to be aware of what comes in contact with your skin. You may catch yourself resting your head for a quick snooze while commuting on a plane or public transportation; those surfaces are filled with bacteria that can cause more breakouts. Bringing a clean pillowcase + antibacterial wipes in your carry on is a great way to prep your nap station. Wipe down the surface whenever possible and put a clean pillowcase over your favorite neck pillow to protect your skin from dirty surfaces. Don’t forget your hands too! Sanitize them often and keep your hands away from your face.
BRING TRAVEL SIZE PRODUCTS
No need for a heavier traveling bag! Stick to the essentials to keep your skin healthy when you’re traveling. The Starter Kit has all the skincare essentials to help combat acne and help fade acne scars. Best Part? It’s TSA Approved and it comes in a cute travel bag.
SPF SPF SPF
This is an absolute MUST in your travel skincare routine. SPF can help protect your skin from free radical damage from the sun. Buying a non-comedogenic & oil-free sunscreen will help protect your skin and reduce causing more acne breakouts. Your skin will thank you in the future.
IN-FLIGHT ESSENTIAL: MOISTURIZER
The recycled air on the plane can cause your skin to become dehydrated very quickly. It’s important to moisturize your skin and stay hydrated during the flight. I love using a moisturizer + facial spray combo to help keep my skin hydrated throughout the flight. I love using the lightweight Vitamin C Creme & spritzing my face throughout the flight with my Vitamin C Beauty Elixir. Making sure that your skin is moisturized will avoid overproduction of sebum on your skin and help you maintain healthy skin.
DON’T FORGET THE SPOT TREATMENT & MASKS
A breakout is bound to happen when you’re traveling. New climate, new foods, and new routines can cause your skin to breakout. Prepare your go-to spot treatment: salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide or tea tree oil to help shrink the breakout. Do weekly facemasks to help maintain your glow. Not only does it help you unwind from a long day of travel but it also helps to remove impurities from the skin. My favorite mask is the Activated Charcoal Mask. Look at how much junk it took out of my skin!!
TRAVEL SAFE AND HAVE LOTS OF FUN!
